IDEX Poll: Majority Report Good Business at JCK Las Vegas

June 16, 05 by Edahn Golan

More than half (56 percent) of respondents in the weekly IDEX Online Poll said they had excellent or OK business at the JCK Las Vegas Show that ended last week. 36 percent of respondents said business was the best in years.

The IDEX Online weekly Poll asked “How was business at the JCK Las Vegas Show 2005?” For 21 percent of respondents, business was “OK - The same as every year”, however 18 percent said “A lot of networking, not many sales”.

Only 27 percent of respondents gave a negative feedback to the show, with 15 percent saying it was “Below expectations” and 12 percent answering “Slow”.

The show this year enjoyed heavy visitor traffic throughout the weekend and on Monday, the fourth day of the event. However many diamond dealers noted strong price pressure by buyers with very mild, if any, increases in polished diamond prices.

This week’s IDEX Online Poll is in response to the new anti-money laundering laws in Europe and the U.S., asking “Are you aware of the new anti-money laundering laws?”
