Serge Couvreur Named HRD Antwerp GM

(IDEX Online News) – Serge Couvreur is the new general manager of HRD Antwerp, succeeding Georges Brys. Brys stepped down Friday, as first reported by IDEX Online.

Couvreur has a background in consumer goods and retail industry. He studied at HEC (Haute Etudes Commerciales) and holds a degree in Commercial Management & Marketing.

“I understand the fundamentals of HRD Antwerp and it is my ambition to further build on its core values – technology, objectivity and ethics – both on a national and international level,” Couvreur said in a release.

During Brys six years in office, the diamond lab and education organization opened a diamond-grading lab in Mumbai, a jewelry lab in Turkey and several drop-off services worldwide.

He successfully launched cooperation programs with Chinese partners and reached key agreements in the field of research, diamond technology, training and equipment. 

“I am grateful for the opportunities I was given in this vibrant international business. I look forward to the new challenge I have been offered," Brys said. "I wish Serge, the HRD Antwerp team and Antwerp a bright, successful future.”
