Aussie Cricket Ball Could Leave a Diamond in The Rough

November 30, 04 by Albert Robinson

What makes better sense in cricket-mad Australia than the most expensive ball in the world to get the new season off to a start as well as marking the opening of Fior Drissage’s jewelry store in Melbourne.

The unique ball, registered in the Guinness Book of Records, is made with 2,704 diamonds and 18 karat gold stitch.

Featuring 53.83 carats of diamonds and a pure gold seam of 125 grams, the ball, was made in another country known for its love for the game, Sri Lanka.

Just to be on the safe side, the manufacturer opted for special adhesive material to stick the diamonds to the ball similar to that used on the wings of NASA’s space shuttles.
