Sergey Oulin to Oversee Alrosa Rough Diamond Sales
December 26, 07 Alrosa Vice President Sergey Oulin was appointed to oversee all of the Russian miner's activities related to rough diamond sales, sorting and purchases. The appointment comes as the company is readying itself to change the way it sales rough diamonds. After long years of selling mostly to De Beers and local manufacturers, Alrosa is preparing a set list of regular buyers that will purchase $50 - $150 million in goods annually. Oulin, according to a company release, will be responsible for the planning and fulfillment of the cash flow, focused specifically on the schedule of the incoming proceeds of ruble and foreign currency of the goods. He will also oversee activity of the company’s subsidiaries, including the United Selling Organization of Alrosa (USO Alrosa), YaPTA (the Yakutsk Diamond Trading Company), the diamond sorting center, and other production, sales and purchasing departments. In addition, Oulin will coordinate the subdivisions’ activities regarding sorting and evaluation, rough sales and sorting, development of technological regulations, evaluation and marketing and developing relations with local and foreign partners of Alrosa.
