January 29, 09A new 89-facet diamond cut was introduced in Antwerp Thursday. The ‘Blue Flame,’ by Eurostar Diamond Traders was revealed during an exclusive preview event held at the Rubens House in Antwerp, residence of the Renaissance master painter and diamond collector, Peter Paul Rubens.
The Blue Flame, and the jewelry it is set in, were designed for Tesiro, a joint venture between Eurostar and the Chinese Tongling Group that operate more than 150 shops in China. The diamonds are accompanied by a diamond grading report issued by HRD Antwerp.
“The Blue Flame diamond cut was designed by two Antwerp cutters, Bernard Van Pul and Koen Van Ishoven,” said Freddy J. Hanard, CEO of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC).
“This is an excellent opportunity to introduce our new and improved HRD Antwerp certificate to a Chinese audience,” said Georges Brys, HRD Antwerp’s General Manager.
Tesiro is also a sponsor of the Berlin Film Festival, which will open on February 5, and the Blue Flame jewels will be worn on the red carpet by Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta Jones and Kate Winslet.
