Mumbai Diamond Broker Succumbs To Blast Injuries

(IDEX Online News) – Vallabhai Gadhia, a 48-year-old diamond broker, died at Mumbai’s
Gadhia sustained a compound fracture to his right leg as a result of the blast. While his injuries were grave, he had showed signs of improvement and had been moved out of intensive care recently. His family had been hopeful of an eventual recovery.
Doctors said however, that gangrene had set in and began spreading through the injured leg. This, they said, left them with no option but to amputate the leg yesterday. Hours after the amputation, Gadhia suffered a fatal heart attack.
With Gadhia’s death, the number of fatalities from the three bomb blasts in Mumbai now stands at 25.
