Boucheron, Van Cleef & Arpels, Are RJC Certified

October 26, 11 by IDEX Online Staff Reporter

(IDEX Online News) – Two high-end firms have been certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council in the past few days, watch and jewelry house Boucheron and the French jewelry house Van Cleef & Arpels.

The two firms have achieved certification meeting the ethical, human rights, social and environmental standards as established by the RJC’s Member Certification System.

"Since 1858, Boucheron has adhered to the highest standards not only in the spectacular designs of its creations but also in upholding its strong ethical code," said Pierre Bouissou, Boucheron's CEO. The RJC certification corresponds to the House's continued endeavor to embody excellence and responsible business practices both internally and externally; a commitment we share across the PPR Group,” "he added.

Founded in Paris more than 150 years ago and with one of the richest and most prestigious heritages in the industry, Boucheron continues to be at the forefront of innovation and modernity. Today, Boucheron operates more than 50 boutiques worldwide in addition to an online sales website.

“Trust is the foundation of our craft and this certification leverages this trust,” said Stanislas de Quercize, CEO and President of Van Cleef & Arpels.

Van Cleef & Arpels has 89 boutiques around the world and three Maisons: Paris, New York and the recently opened Prince’s Building in Hong Kong.

“We are conscious of the exceptional roots and creativity of Van Cleef & Arpels. To be true to our values and true to our clients, this is our aim,” de Quercize added.

RJC CEO Michael Rae congratulated the two firms for their achievement.

In related news, RJC announced that Jewellery Focus, the highest circulated jewelry trade magazine in the UK, has become an official Supporter of the Council.

In becoming a Supporter, the magazine - which is the flagship publication of B2B publisher Mulberry Publications, based in Colchester - has aligned its commitment to transparent business endeavors with the RJC’s mission to advance ethical practices throughout the jewelry supply chain, from mine to retail.
