According to GIA, the device “demonstrated an apt capacity to deliver accurate and repeatable symmetry results,” adding that “improvements in the operation and accuracy (…) now enable us to also measure (…) symmetry parameters during the grading process.”
The diamond toolmaker's DiaMension family is the most widely used systems for measuring a polished diamond’s geometric proportions and determining its cut grade. Symmetry is a key cut grade parameter.
Sarin has adapted the Instructor and DiaVison software packages supported by the DiaMension HD to measure and display symmetry-related parameters, and will now provide this feature in existing and new systems.
