DDC Distressed by Sales of Undisclosed Lab-Made Diamonds

“The failure of members of our trade to identify synthetics can have a severe negative impact on consumer confidence in our business," said DDC President Reuven Kaufman.
"Those who sell synthetics that are passed along as natural diamonds must be severely disciplined by the Bourses," he added.
Kaufman's call to act expeditiously and effectively reflects similar calls in the industry, which have so far not resulted in a ban or any other action against the companies allegedly involved in the case.
IDEX Online continues to call on the industry's leadership to pursue this case relentlessly, not only to bring the offenders to court, but also to prevent any innocent traders from unknowingly selling undisclosed lab-made diamonds and by that becoming criminals themselves.
