Louise Prior is Leaving the DTC

November 21, 12 by Edahn Golan

(IDEX Online News)
– Louise Prior, Head of Communications and Sightholder Services for the DTC since 2005, is leaving the company at the end of the year after 18 years with the De Beers Group.

At her current position, Prior has been responsible for the development, management and implementation of DTC communications, Sightholder services and events programs, including DTC’s renowned Business Excellence Seminars.

Prior is well known and regarded among the industry's press, serving as the press' go to person for the DTC.

She started working at the company as Assistant Sales Manager in the company’s polished division before becoming a Key Account Manager (KAM) at the DTC, where she worked with clients based in the U.S. and Israel as well as was responsible for the relationship management of Industrial clients.

Deciding not to move with the company to Botswana in 2013, her responsibilities will be divided. DTC sales manager Mahiar Borhanjoo will continue to drive the strategy for Sightholder Services; Nigel Simson will be supporting the communications role and will combine this with a new role in Beneficiation; Maria Olivas will take on all responsibilities relating to the Sightholder experience and Lisa Levinson will take responsibility for all project management and the DTC Sightholder website.

In an announcement to Sightholders, DTC CEO Varda Shine said, "Louise has been an invaluable asset to the company and I wish to convey my thanks to her for the level of commitment, determination and professionalism she has demonstrated.

"Louise has been instrumental in helping us to enhance the ways in which we engage with our Sightholders and the wider diamond industry during a period of immense change."

DTC's move to Botswana requires a larger number of London-based employees to either relocate, find a new position in the De Beers Group or leave the company.
