First Industry Trade Show for Indian Consumers Announced

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry's India Trade Promotion Organization and the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) announced the initiative today (Tuesday).,
To promote the fair country-wide, the GJEPC has also announced that the India International Jewellery Week (IIJW), which up till now has run in Mumbai in August, just before the IIJS trade show, will now have a two-day outing on April 4-5 in Delhi.
The organizers agreed that the show will be an annual event and will run at least over an initial three-year period. The agreement also envisages the event being taken overseas at a later date.
According to GJEPC Chairman Vipul Shah, the event would allow consumers to view India ’s wide range of jewelry from across the country on one platform while giving the industry a much-needed promotional push.
