Average US Natural Diamond Engagement Ring Price Hits $7,346

(IDEX Online) - The average price for a natural diamond engagement ring in the US rose 9 per cent to $7,346 last year, according to the Natural Diamond Council (NDC).
Its new report, Natural Diamond Trends: A 2025 Overview, says the average carat weight rose 5 per cent to 1.16 carats.
Round brilliant diamonds dominated as the top-selling shape at 62 per cent of sales, unchanged from 2024, while oval shapes slipped slightly to 14 per cent, down from 16 per cent.
SI1 was the single most common clarity grade. The report does not say which color was most popular for engagement rings.
Diamond engagement rings - including complete rings, loose center stones, and bridal semi-mounts - accounted for 38 per cent of all natural diamond jewelry sales by volume in 2025.​
The figures are from analysis by Tenoris of more than 4m anonymized point-of-sale transactions at 2,500 US specialty retailers
Across the full natural diamond jewelry market, stones in the 2.00-carat to 2.24-carat range and 1.50-carat to 1.59-carat range posted the fastest unit sales growth, signaling strong demand for statement sizes above 1 carat.
Long fancy shapes like marquise and cushion continued gaining traction, alongside a market-wide 10 percent jump in average natural diamond jewelry prices, driven by larger stones and quality upgrades.
November and December holiday sales, combined with Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, drove 46 percent of total diamond jewelry volume, underscoring the enduring role of gifting seasons.
