6.03ct Fancy Vivid Blue Could Fetch $12m

April 30, 26 by John Jeffay

(IDEX Online) - An internally flawless, 6.03-carat fancy vivid blue diamond is expected to sell for up to CHF 9.5 million ($12.2 million) at Sotheby's Geneva.

The cushion-modified brilliant Type IIb gem, from South Africa's Cullinan mine, is set in a platinum ring and leads the High Jewelry auction on 12 May.

In May 2025 at Sotheby's Geneva sold another fancy vivid blue diamond from Cullinan - the 10.3-carat Mediterranean Blue for $21.5 million - or $2.09 million per carat.

The unnamed 6.03-carat diamond carries an estimate of CHF 7.2 million to CHF 9.6 million (USD 8.0 million to USD 10.7 million). That would equate to between USD 1.33 million and USD 1.77 million per carat.
