Two Blues - Each with an $8.5m High Estimate

(IDEX Online) - Christie's New York is to sell two blue diamonds - both with estimates of $6.5 million to $8.5 million - on the same day at its Magnificent Jewels auction on 9 June.
One is the largest fancy blue diamond ever offered at auction, the 31.62-carat pear-shaped Azure Blue, GIA-graded as potentially internally flawless.
The other is an unnamed stone, a 5.04-carat fancy vivid blue marquise modified brilliant-cut diamond.
It's described as VVS2 clarity, potentially Internally Flawless, Type IIb, an is set in a platinum ring with tapered baguettes.
Among the other highlights at the sale is a 15.49-carat sapphire ring with an estimate of $1.2 million to $1.8 million.
