Screen Icon: Christie's to Sell Claudia Cardinale's Jewelry

(IDEX Online) - Jewelry that belonged to Italian screen icon Claudia Cardinale is to be auctioned at Christie's Paris.
Highlight of the sale is a 1960s Serpenti watch by Bvlgari - part of an iconic line of snake‑inspired watches, with pear-shaped sapphires for eyes - and an estimate of EUR 150,000 to EUR 250,000 (USD 162,000 to USD 270,000).
Three Bvlgari rings are offered for sale: one set with a 30 carat ruby (EUR 80,000-100,000; USD 86,400-108,000), a second, known as Trombino, featuring an emerald (EUR 60,000-80,000; USD 64,800-86,400), and a third set with a star sapphire (EUR 50,000-80,000; USD 54,000-86,400).
They're among 20 lots from Cardinale's collection in the online Joaillerie Paris auction which runs from 16 to 26 June.
Cardinale, who died last September aged 87, helped define European cinema in the 1960s and beyond, appearing in over 150 films alongside the likes of David Niven, Burt Lancaster, John Wayne, Rock Hudson, Lee Marvin, and Omar Sharif.
A Buccellati complete parure is also being offered for sale, estimated at EUR 15,000 to EUR 25,000 (USD 16,200 to USD 27,000), a Van Cleef & Arpels gold powder compact at EUR 15,000 to EUR 25,000 (USD 16,200 to USD 27,000), and Cartier Tank watches at EUR 8,000 to EUR 10,000 (USD 8,640 to USD 10,800).
