GJEPC Elects New Diamond Panel Members

(IDEX Online News) – The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) held its biennial elections to special interest committees on September 27. The incoming Diamond Panel Committee members are Ajesh Mehta of Navinchandra Exports, Saunak Parik of Mahendra Brothers Exports and Nirav Bhansali of Prism Enterprises.

The newly elected Gold Jewellery Panel member is Colin Shah of Kama Schachter Jewellery  

Diamond Panel Committee members Bakul Mehta, Vasant Mehta and Kanubhai Shah, along with Vijay Kapoor from the Gold Jewellery Panel, have retired.

GJEPC’s panels represent special interest groups in the industry. Diamond manufacturers are represented by the Diamond Panel and gold jewelry manufacturers by the Gold Jewellery Panel and so on.

The organization's Chairman and Vice Chairman are elected from the Working Committee, comprised of representatives from the various panels. Because loose polished diamonds are GJEPC’s largest export category, the diamond panel naturally has the largest representation on the committee and the greatest influence.

Full committee and sub-committee formation will take place after the GJEPC’s Committee of Administration meets today (Tuesday).
