Indian Sightholder JB Diamonds has formed two diamond jewelry companies in the US to take advantage of the growing American diamond jewelry market.
The two new firms are JB-DM Jewelry and JB Bridal Line. They are created from JB Diamond’s existing jewelry division, Blue Star Jewelry New York and from a joint venture with Dmitry Marmershteyn, former CEO of MGM Jewelry Mfg.
The joint venture will target major US retail chains for fashion and bridal diamond jewelry while the new arrangement will also enable JB Diamonds to better services its existing US customers.
Jitu Surani will serve as chairman of the companies while Marmershteyn will be the CEO.
“Diamond jewelry sales have shown significant growth over the last few years in the US,” Surani said. “We already have a proven track record in manufacturing diamonds and jewelry. Through these ventures we are now in a position to fully understand and cater to the needs of our major retail customers in the USA.”
JB Diamonds, which employs more than 15,000 workers, has recently opened a jewelry factory in SEEPZ, Mumbai, called JB Creations, and also has jewelry manufacturing factories in China and Thailand.
