Diagem Finds Diamondiferous Gravel Area In Brazil
July 08, 04
Canadian miner Diagem International Resource Corp has found a diamondiferous gravel area in the Juina Diamond and Kimberlite Province, in Mato Grosso state in Brazil.
The first bulk sample has recovered 3.01 carats from 11.25 cubic meters of gravel for a grade of 0.27 carats per cubic meter.
The diamonds include a 2.72-carat gem quality stone, reported from the field as being one of the finest quality diamonds recovered from the Juina operations since January 2003.
The company says this discovery confirms the existence of a diamond bearing conglomerate formation distinctly different and older than the diamondiferous alluvial flats and terrace type deposits identified at other properties.
