According to reports in the British press, at 10 am Wednesday, couriers from De Beers LV arrived at an east London location where the shoot was supposed to take place. Two robbers attacked the couriers and stole earrings, a necklace, and a ring that were intended for the 'models'.
At 11:30 am on Thursday morning the story repeated itself when a courier from Cartier arrived at a supposed shooting location with a necklace and matching earrings. Upon arrival she was robbed by two men while still in the taxi.
In both incidents the robbers appeared to be unarmed.
The value of the stolen diamond jewelry is estimated at £500,000 to £750,000. Police believe both robberies were planned and carried out by the same people and are trying to identify the person who contacted the jewelry houses with the bogus fashion shoot story.
