De Beers LV Stores has partnered with Salam International Investment Limited (SIIL), a Qatari business house, to open the first of several De Beers diamond jewelry stores in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The De Beers Dubai boutique is scheduled to open in April.
According to De Beers, the opening of the Dubai store represents the first step in a broader commitment to expand the presence of the De Beers Stores in the Middle East, which De Beers regards as an important market. "We believe that clients in Dubai are very well informed about the significance of diamonds, and will furthermore appreciate the unique designs our partner has chosen to showcase," says Guy Leymarie, CEO of De Beers LV.
Says Leymarie, "we have established a very close relationship with Salam and we are very committed to the success of the agreement and of the De Beers Stores in the Middle East.”
De Beers LV was established in 2001 as an independently managed and operated company by De Beers SA and the luxury goods company LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
SIIL owns and manages business units in four sectors: luxury retailing, information technology and communication, industrial engineering, oil and gas, and contracting and project management. The company’s operations extend to Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.
