GemEx Develops Hologram Diamond Viewer

GemEx Systems has introduced two new tools for the trade. The first, the GemEx Hologram Diamond Viewer (HDV), is an innovative in-store table mark viewer for diamond manufacturers and retail jewelers. GemEx also developed a personal, pocket-sized version of the viewer.
The pocket size viewer is also offered to consumers buying diamond jewelry from retailers. GemEx said it can be sold “for a nominal price”, but did not provide any pricing details for either products.
The company says that as early as 2000, marking diamonds was seen as the premier way to personalize a diamond. The message was invisible to the naked eye, requiring a jeweler’s loupe. The GemEx HDV, they say, is inexpensive, easy to use and provides the consumer with a fun way to identify and experience their diamond.
The message not only becomes visible, but also holographic, appearing as a three dimensional image on the diamond.
According to Randall Wagner, president of GemEx, they can help manufacturers and retailers to engrave the diamond’s certificate number, company logos, or a customer’s personalized message or picture on the diamond’s table.
