India’s July Exports of Polished Diamonds $1.18 Billion

India exported in July cut and polished diamonds to the tune of $1,182.75 million, shipping abroad 4,032,000 carats. This translates to an average of $293.34 per carat.

According to provisional data released by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, in the first four months of the Indian fiscal year, India exported 12,874,000 carats with a stated value of $4,069.37 million, a 24.58 percent increase.

Cut and polished diamond imports in July totaled $481.43 million, while imports in the April-July period were $1,409.15 million.
