World Record for Watch with 17,524 Diamonds

January 04, 23 by John Jeffay

(IDEX Online) - An Indian jeweler has set a world record with a watch made of 17,524 natural hand-cut diamonds.

Renani Jewels, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has been recognized by Guinness World Records for its Srinika bracelet timepiece, for "the most diamonds set on a watch".

The watch, inspired by ancient Indian mythology, weighs 373.030 gram and contains 54.70 carats of diamonds, all E or F color and VVS-VS clarity.

There are also 12 black diamonds on the dial, a 0.72-carat D/VVS solitaire, and 113 natural blue sapphires.

Srinika means flower, which is in the heart of Lord Vishnu, one of the principal deities of Hinduism, and also signifies Lakshmi, supreme goddess of good fortune.  Price on application.

Last August the same jeweler won another Guinness World Record for a ring made with 24,679 natural diamonds.
