ORRA Designs Diamond-Studded Trophy for Indian Cricket Champions

May 26, 08 by IDEX Online Staff Reporter

ORRA, a Rosy Blue diamond jewelry brand, has handcrafted a diamond-studded trophy for the winners of the DLF Indian Premier League, to be presented to the winners of the cricket league on June 1.

The trophy, made for the inaugural DLF Indian Premier League, comprises a wooden backdrop engraved with logos of all the league teams, signifying the unity and sportsmanship of all participating teams.

Yellow and blue sapphires make up the map of India signifying the passion for the DLF Indian Premier League, while the rubies on the map highlight the eight franchises and cities in which the matches are being played.

The border of the Indian map and the league is highlighted in diamonds, to signify the added dazzle that the league has brought to the game of cricket. The logo of the DLF Indian Premier League is handcrafted in wood with a batsman in gold leafing holding a diamond bat.

A total of 2,554 round and baguette diamonds weighing 68.77 carats, 4,500 yellow sapphires weighing 218.55 carats, blue sapphires weighing 986 carats and 8 rubies weighing 248.70 carats was used. The gold weight of the statue is 691.15 grams. The Winners’ Trophy for the inaugural season of the DLF Indian Premier league was created by Mona Mehta and a team of Orra’s designers based out of five countries.
