Presidents of Thai, German Diamond Bourses Re-elected

The Thai and German diamond exchanges have reelected their presidents in recently held elections. The Bangkok Diamonds and Precious Stones Exchange (BDPSE) re-elected Boonyong Assarasakorn while, in Germany, Jochen Müller was re-elected for a second term as president of the Diamant-und Edelsteinbörse Idar-Oberstein E.V. 

 

The two organizations affiliated with the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) have fewer than 100 members.

 

At the BDPSE, Somchai Phornchindarak will serve as vice president and Pichet Romhuttirerk will continue to serve as secretary general.

 

The following were elected directors of the bourse: Sui-Hai Sae-Eng, Varin Assamongkorn, Worakit Kerdkitsadanont, Pranee Vithayasai and Suchi Archapiraj. The members of a special advisory committee are: Vichai Assarasakorn, Pornsit Sriotathikul, Komson Opassathavorn, Prida Tiasuwan, Dr. Savaraj Samchamarga, Chanvit Hiran-as and Vichian Veerasaksri.

 

In Germany, three vice presidents were voted in: Manfred Giloy, Christian Klein and Bernd Willi Ripp.

 

The following members will serve on the bourse's board: Bipin Choksi, Dieter Hahn, Hans W. Hahn, Vinay Kothari, Hans-Dieter Krieger, Frank Mayer, Gerd Meng, Bernd Mildenberger, Albert Ruppenthal and Kurt Ziemer. Jörg Lindemann continues to serve as the bourse's managing director.

 

The elections at the Thai and German diamond exchanges follow elections held last month among in Belgium, Italy and Israel.
