(IDEX Online News) – US-based diamantaire Nice Diamonds, a subsidiary of Forever Collections Inc has attained the Responsible Jewelry Council’s (RJC) Certification against the 2013 Codes of Practice (COP).
The RJC Codes of Practice is an international standard on responsible business practices for diamonds, gold and platinum group metals. It addresses several different areas throughout a business’ chain of production – human and labor rights, environmental impact, mining practices and product disclosure.
As part of the process to gain accreditation, RJC members are independently audited against the organization’s Codes of Practice. Nice Diamond’s assessment was conducted by Gibson Lemos from Bureau Veritas Italia.
“It is a pleasure to announce Nice Diamonds has been certified against the 2013 COP. The new provisions under the 2013 COP address important issues for our Members and their supply chain. We are delighted to see Members achieving Certification against the standard and warmly congratulate Nice Diamonds,” said RJC executive director Andrew Bone.
“Nice Diamonds is proud to have achieved the RJC Certification. We hold the core values of integrity and transparency in all aspects of our business and the RJC certification is an additional confirmation of our commitment to maintaining responsible and ethical integrity in our supply chain. We truly believe in following practices that positively address human rights, labor rights, environmental impact and product disclosure,” said Forever Collections, Inc. president Nilesh Sheth.
