India’s Net Polished Diamond Exports Slashed by 38% in June

– India’s polished diamond exports eased in June, growing only by 1.4% in value and 0.4% by volume compared to June 2010 and practically unchanged compared to exports in May.

 

India’s gross polished diamond exports totaled $2,223 million in June, according to figures released by the GJEPC on Wednesday. The reported volume of exports stood at 5.119 million carats, averaging $434.27 p/c.

 

Polished diamond imports have increased by 20% to $1,761 million.

 

Net polished diamond exports in June were therefore $462 million, falling 37.6% from the $740 million in net exports reported in June 2010.
