Man arrested in Bridges Murder

Kenyan police reportedly made an arrest in connection to the recent slaying of Campbell Bridges. Bridges was attacked along with his son and bodyguards on his farm in Kenya. During the attack, he was fatally stabbed and died of his wounds.

Bridges' attack and murder followed a three year dispute over mining rights for tsavorite. Herbert Khaemba, police commander in the area where the killing took place said the suspect was the chairman of small-scale miners in the area and led the group that attacked Bridges over a mining dispute.

Bridges was a founder and later the president of the International Colored Gemstone Association. He was also the founder of the mineral tsavorite, which led to a consultancy with Tiffany & Co.

A funeral service for Bridges is scheduled for August 21.
