Sahar-Atid Wins Israel’s Outstanding Exporter Award
November 21, 10(IDEX Online News) - Diamond Trading Company (DTC) Sightholder Sahar-Atid won the Outstanding Exporter Award for 2009. The company exported $63.7 million worth of polished last year.
The company was established in Israel in 2000, is a contract buyer of Harry Winston since 2003 and has been a DTC Sightholder since 2008. For eight years, the manufacturer had facilities in Russia as well, however they were closed during the recent financial crisis.
In Israel, the company employs some 40 workers.
“I’m optimistic, despite the current hardship and the high price of rough diamonds,” partner Yair Sahar told IDEX Online. “The diamond industry has changed dramatically in the past few years, and this change has been very positive.”
The Outstanding Exporter Award ceremony will be held at the President’s Mansion in Jerusalem on December 20.
