The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is looking to offer more classes throughout the Middle East. In addition to the classes it currently offers in Bahrain and Dubai, the GIA will soon expand its course offerings in the Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
The GIA recently conducted Gem Identification and Colored Stone Grading Lab classes in Bahrain, the institute said Monday. The week-long classes took place at Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry & Commerce, with government cooperation and support of the Bahrain Laboratory. Sixteen students completed the Gem Identification class and 15 completed Colored Stone Grading; each received a Letter of Completion.
“Due to the overwhelmingly positive response from students and requests for additional instruction, we’re adding more classes to the schedule in Bahrain,” said Judy Anand, GIA manager of Dubai Lab Services. “We appreciate the opportunity to serve the region by providing the highest quality gemological training and skill development.”
