Alrosa, Russian Diamond Chamber 6th Auction Totals $16.6 Million

37 companies from U.S., India, Israel, Belgium and Belarus participated in the sixth auction of 10+ carats held jointly by Alrosa and the Russian Diamond Chamber in Moscow. 76 boxes out of 78 were sold for a total of $16.6 million.

The auction is open only to non-Russian companies who are hand picked and invited to bid by Alrosa.

The auction opened January 17, offering 591 rough diamonds weighing 10,300 carats, including 16 exceptionally large stones weighing more than 50 carats each. The largest diamond offered at the auction weighed 158.58 carats.
